GOOD CUSTOMS: "SIESTA"
First of all, we want to say that "siesta" is not only a custom of León. All Spain is characterized by "siesta".
When people have finished eating, most of them lie down on the sofa (generally) and sleep for a time (more or less like to have a nap). There are people whose "siesta" last one-two hours but experts recommend about 30 minutes of "siesta".
It is fantastic (if you have time) because it is a free moment in the day to have a break and later you are more active to finish the day.

This is a cool post but it is a little confusing in the statement “(more or less like to have a nap). “ I am not exactly sure what you were trying to say with this statement. However, we in the United States are all very jealous of this Spanish custom.
ResponderEliminarI would love the opportunity to nap in the middle of the day. Being an engineering student, however, I just don't find the time to do it. I too, am quite jealous.
ResponderEliminarSome quick notes:
-"All *of* Spain," would be the more common expression.
-"siesta" is singular so you should either say "who's siesta lasts" or "whose siestas last."
This sounds like a really great tradition. I imagine most Americans would have trouble finding time for an after-meal nap, and it's an interesting part of the culture that this tradition is honored throughout Spain. I often wish meals and rest were more important parts of our lives as students and as Americans.
ResponderEliminarI love this custom! I usually like to nap after meals too, but unfortunately I usually have class (which means that many students fall asleep during the class itself!).
ResponderEliminarWhat do people do when they live far away from their workplace? Do they still go home? is there a place to take siesta at work?
ResponderEliminarInstead of saying "sleep for a time" you probably want to say "some time" or "a while"
if you are not lucky and your work is far away, you probably won`t be able to have "SIESTA" because in workplaces there is not a specific place to have "siesta"
